3D Design Winners

July 2024 Soap Challenge

Our objective for this challenge was to use a combination of poured cold process soap and pre-made cold process embeds to create a 3D effect. Each category had different rules for their designs. The regular category had to create a simple 3D shape and include five or more in each bar, the advanced category had to create a single complex 3D embed for each bar, and the winners category had to create a 3D design in their entire soap. Our guest teacher Roxanne Moore of Caprica Soapery put together a comprehensive video tutorial, along with tips and tricks from Vicki Chase of Canterbury Soapworks that is now available in our Tutorial Shop.

Much gratitude to Bramble Berry for sponsoring this challenge by providing $100 gift certificates for the grand prize winners in each of the competitive categories, as well as the Sponsor’s Choice prize in the bonus category, and 20% off coupon codes for second and third place winners in the competitive categories.

Bramble Berry is a company built by makers, for makers. Their mission is to enrich lives by empowering creativity and specialize in the highest quality handcraft supplies. I love using their ingredients and tools!

Feedback “Even though the cuts didn’t create the intended 3D effect, I think the accident made a gorgeous bar of soap!” -Anne-Marie Faiola
