Peek-a-boo Design Winners
August 2024 Soap Challenge
This technique has opened up all sorts of possibilities for custom designs! Our guest teacher, Robyn French Smith of Bath Fizz and Foam, is a former member of the Soap Challenge Club and the creator of the Peek-a-boo Design. Like many soap designs, it was first inspired by another craft – in this case solid bubble bath sprinkles! Robyn worked with several custom manufacturers to develop sprinkle cutters that quickly and cleanly create several shaped sprinkles at once, and what remained of the sheet is what inspired this technique. Members were not limited to using sprinkle cutters for this challenge – only their imaginations! If you would like to get the full instructions, they are now available in our Tutorial Shop (along with dozens of other tutorials from previous challenges.)
Curious about Bath Fizz and Foam? Their company is focused on empowering handmade cosmetic makers with the knowledge they need to be successful crafters and small business owners. They sell ebook formulation guides for a myriad of products, and offer extensive troubleshooting and support. They also host intensive, bootcamp-style classes where people can learn the specific processes to make fun bath products. Check out their Facebook group for more info!
They also sponsored our challenge, providing $100 gift certificates for the grand prize winners in each of the competitive categories, as well as the Sponsor’s Choice prize in the bonus category, and 20% off coupon codes for second and third place winners in the competitive categories. Let’s take a look now!
