Spin Swirl Winners

June 2024 Soap Challenge

The Spin Swirl was first introduced by Mulan Hua in 2014 by pouring alternating colors of soap in pools in a slab mold then spinning the mold full of soap to create a beautiful design. We did a challenge in 2015 featuring this technique, but it was fun to re-visit it with different pouring and spinning methods and molds. I love the wide variety of results! You can learn about these variations in the video and written tutorial, now available in our Tutorial Shop.

Huge thanks to our sponsor Custom Craft Tools, providing $150 gift certificates for the grand prize winners in each of the competitive categories, as well as the Sponsor’s Choice prize in the bonus category, and 20% off coupon codes for second and third place winners in the competitive categories. Additionally, they gave everyone who signed up for the challenge a 10% off coupon code to be used by the end of this month (hint, hint if you haven’t used yours yet!).

Custom Craft Tools is driven by their passion to create high quality, innovative soap making tools. They are always working on new products! Each item is manufactured in-house, meaning they don’t do business with second-party manufacturers. Every mold or cutter is 100% designed and produced by hand in their workshop in Charleston, South Carolina.  Worldwide shipping available!

Feedback “We love how elegant and unique this soap looks and admire the creativity in shaping it like a stone chunk, with soft colors mimicking the patterns of agate. Spun to perfection!” -Alex & Alex
