  • We may share the countries where our members come from with the rest of the membership during a challenge to create comradery.

Registration Fees

If you purchase from us, all your payment information goes directly to PayPal.  Please read their privacy policy to understand how they use that information and how it’s stored.  The information we receive from PayPal with any transaction includes: the name and email address associated with your PayPal account, as well as your residence country.  This information is used solely for sending out email communication regarding the challenge you signed up for, including:

  • Verification of your payment
  • Reminders of deadlines
  • Winners announcements

If you wish to receive information about future challenges, you will need to sign up for those newsletters separately HERE.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it.  We’ll delete it if you want us to, just ask.

Media

If you upload images to the website for entering a challenge, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website once the challenge is over.

Contact forms

If you submit contact forms on our website, we collect the data shown in the contact form as well as your IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

After you submit a contact form, the information is emailed to us at [email protected] so we can read and respond to your message.  The submitted information is kept securely in our database and in our email service for two years. After that, it’s deleted.

Embedded content from other websites

Sometimes our tutorials may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you visited the website it came from.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Communication

If you opt-in to receive our emails, we may use your personal information to provide you with information about future challenges, available soap tutorials, and winners announcements.  We might even ask for feedback via survey.  We send out approximately 3-4 emails per month.

If you do not wish to receive emails from us after subscribing, you may opt-out by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails.

We store your communication preferences when you sign up. It helps us make sure we email you exactly how you like to be emailed. This data is retained until you request the removal of your data.

We keep a log of some of the communication that we have with you. We keep these logs to improve our marketing and communication with you and other customers. These logs are retained until you request removal of your data.

If you opt-in to receive text messages, we may use your personal information to provide you with information about future challenges, available soap tutorials, and winners announcements.  We send out approximately 3-4 text messages per month.

If you do not wish to receive text messages from us after subscribing, you may opt-out by replying STOP.

HOW LONG DO WE STORE DATA?

If you have an account, you can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except you cannot change your username) on your account dashboard.

If you have an account and do not log in to this site, we remove your account and all relevant information after two years of inactivity. We figure, after two years, you’ve probably moved on, and deleting your data makes room for new people.

If you place an order and fully complete it, we delete the order information after four years.

If you sign up for marketing emails and do not want to receive them any longer, you may opt-out by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails. We do not delete the information collected from email subscribers unless requested.

The rights you have over your data

You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Just drop us a line to put in a request.

Where we store your data

For the most part, we keep your data right where you leave it. Your user information, such as account data and order information, is stored in our web host’s secure database. And if you are an email subscriber, your information is stored in our email service’s secure database. Please see the Third Party Disclosure for more information.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFO?

Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities to make your visit to our site as safe as possible.

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of people (me and my two tech people) who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential.  When you register for an account on our website, you are responsible for maintaining your account’s security by using a strong password.

We implement a variety of security measures when a user submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information. All transactions are protected by SSL encryption technology, processed through PayPal, and are not stored or processed on our servers. See our Third Party Disclosure for more information.

If you are not in the United States, you should know that your personal information will be processed in the United States.

In the ridiculously low-chance but unfortunate event of a data breach, we will contact you and the relevant authorities within 72 hours.
